Phil Hartman
Phil Hartman will always be best know to fans of the Simpsons as the voices of the B-Movie actor Troy McClure and the inept lawyer Lionel Hutz. Ironically, he was offerted to do the voice of the even more inept Space Captain Zapp Brannigan on Futurama. He also did numerous characters on NBC's Saturday Night Live!

John Candy
John Candy, best known to Canadians by his many characters on SCTV, including "Billy Sol Hurok" on "Farm Celebrity Blowup" (May the good Lord take a liking to you, and BLOW YOU UP REAL SOON! (KABLOOIE!)); "The Shmenge Brothers"; "Dr. Tongue", who starred in really bad 3-D horror movies, like "Dr. Tounge and the 3D House of Pancakes"; the vain bloated variety star "Johnny LaRue", whom Santa finally got him a television camera crane shot; "Harry, the man with the snake on his face" who ran "Harry's Sex Shop"; and the lovable "Hey Yorgi" which ran on CCCP1 (three C P one), Russian Television, which had illegally jammed SCTV for one episode.
John will also be remembered from his many film roles, but to me espically from Michael Moore's infamously funny "Canadian Bacon", where John was "Bud B. Boomer"... a sheriff in Niagara, NY, USA who almost turned a phony war with Canada into a deadly serious one. Sadly, this was John's last offical movie.

He is best known as "Uncle Martin" the Martian from the television series "My Favorite Martian"; the hard nosed school teacher "Mr. Hand" from the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"; and Starfleet Academy's aged groundskeeper "Boothby" from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Voyager.
McLean Stevenson
McLean Stevenson
Best known as "Lt. Colonel Henry Blake", commander of the 4077 M*A*S*H unit on the CBS television series (M*A*S*H), from 1972 - 1975. Henry Blake was killed when the plane he was in crashed in the Sea of Japan, on his way back home. One of the saddest moments in the entire series.
Oddly enough, the very next night on CBS' "The Carol Burnett Show", the opening shot was of Henry Blake in a smoking raft, waving his arms, hollering, "I'm OK! I'm OK!" (Found on Wikipedia)
Billy Van
Billy Van
Billy was a prolific Canadian comedian and actor, who had regular appearances on "The Sonny and Cher Show", "The Hudson Brother's Razzle Dazzle Hour", and CTV's "Bizarre". He was best known as playing almost every character on CHCH TV in Hamilton, Ontario's "The Hilarious House of Frightenstein".
Here's a quick list of all of his characters:
Count Frightenstien - A pizza and toast eating vampire, head of the castle Frightenstone
Bwana Clyde Batty - Host of the Zany Zoo
Grizelda, the Ghastly Gourmet - The castle witch, who's lair is the kitchen. Possibly one of the world's WORST cooks!
The Librarian - An old crumudgeon who haunts Castle Frankenstone's library. He is convinced that fables and nursey rhymes are the most horrifying tales ever.
The Oracle - Using a crystal ball and a Zodiac wheel, he tries to fortell the future.
Dr. Pet Vet - The castle veterinarian
The Wolfman - Disk jockey for radio station EECH, who played a tune from the 60's or early 70's, with a kaleidoscope light show.

Paul Lynde
Paul Lynde - Paul was an extremely funny comedian and actor, best known as Samantha Stevens Uncle Arthur on "Bewitched", and as the center square on "Hollywood Squares". He also did a famous halloween special in the late 1970's which featured the band KISS. When talking to them, he told them he figured out how they got their characters.... "I guess you were all fighting, and your parents told you to KISS and Make Up!... Nervous laughter" Gene Simmons, in full gear, leaned down to him and growled "We Don't WEAR MAKEUP!!!" Classic moment.
