Soyuz 11


Soyuz 11 was the second attempt and first successful mission to dock with the world's first space station, which was called Salyut 1. However, the mission came to a tragic end 30 years ago today when a leak in the Soyuz return capsule caused the death of the three Soviet cosmonauts inside during re-entry.

Kirk Alyn


Kirk Alyn was the first actor to potray Superman on the silver screen in serials in 1948 and 1950, and even had a cameo in the 1978 hit "Superman: The Movie" as the young Lois Lane's father. Her mother was portayed by Noel Neill, who was the orginal Lois Lane in the 1948 and 1950 serials.

I was saddened to hear that the Jack Russel Terrier dog named Moose who played Eddie on NBC's Frasier died today at the ripe old age of 16. I loved that talented pooch, and he will be missed!
