Tommy Douglas

Tommy Douglas is known as "The Father of Canadian Medicare", and was voted "The Greatest Canadian of All Time" in 2004. He was the leader of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) Party, which later became the New Democrat Party (NDP), and was the 8th Premier of Saskatchewan. He was awarded the Companion of the Order of Canada and The Saskatchewan Order of Merit, A Master Of Arts, and a Honorary Doctor of Laws.
